I was going to do a post recapping 2010, but decided that was just so typical and boring….and not at all me. Instead, I’ve decided to just post our Christmas letter. It went out in the mail on Christmas Eve so if you haven’t received it yet…..it’s on the way. That or you weren’t worthy enough. 😉
As 2010 disappears in the night,
We’ve finally recovered from our really long flight.
It’s hard to believe that Christmas is here,
Our letter is great and it’ll bring you cheer.
We’re all together safe and sound,
The boys, the cat, and even the hound.
The days go quickly as the new year approaches,
And with it, we hope, there are no more cockroaches.
We packed up and moved, on an airplane we rode,
And now we live on the back of the globe.
This culture is different; the cars are real tiny,
Watch your step in the ocean, Sea Urchins are spiny!
A twelve-year-old, yeah, it’s kind of crazy.
Tyler’s a looker, but like most boys, he’s lazy.
He loves SCUBA diving and playing guitar,
His skills with the ladies will take him far.
Trey enjoys soccer, basketball, and the Taiko Drum,
To the joys of snorkeling, he did succumb!
He’s growing so fast and getting tall,
One thing’s for sure, he’s a major goofball!
Who’s cute and cuddly, and getting real big?
He’s in Kindergarten, and his name is Trygg.
He always wants to go to the beach,
But that’s okay, cuz it’s always in reach.
Rosco’s fourteen, such a cuddly kitten;
He only likes Heidi, with her he’s smitten.
Our dog is a Newfie; he’s really quite quaint,
But the locals think otherwise, and sometimes they faint.
Working full-time was so overrated,
Heidi quit her job and the boys are elated.
Bible study, blogging, and volunteering all week,
Being unpredictable and spontaneous, it’s just her mystique.
As all of you know, Bruce is a Major;
A major what, well, I’ve got no wager.
Okinawa is beautiful, a wonderful place,
The best kept secret in the Army: livin’ on an Air Force Base.
Gifts wrapped neatly under the tree enthrall,
But the nicest present of them all:
Is the gift from God beyond all measure,
And something our hearts continually treasure.
To you, whom we’re thinking of,
We send our holiday joy and love.
Bruce and Heidi Bredlow
So there you have it…my little recap of 2010. Now off to blog about the amazing crap that has already landed in my lap in 2011 (and we’re only on day 2)!
